Thesis Statement: Although Filipinos are baffled about
changing the academic school year to September until June due to the fact that
the vacation coincides with the months having typhoons and floods, the schools
can follow their curriculum which can avoid suspension of classes wherein no lessons get left behind.

A. Counter- Argument: Changing the school year reduces the
suspension of classes due to heavy downpour
1. Representatives Judy Syjuco (2nd District, Iloilo), Mary Ann
Susano (2nd District, Quezon City) and Roger Mercado (Southern Leyte) define
that the third quarter months pours
heavy rainfall wherein students attend
make-up classes so that they can finish the number of schooldays for their
curriculum

Mercado-Revilla stated that it is alright to change the school year to minimize
the jeopardy of student and teachers
when the parents, and relatives bring and fetch the students to school
especially when classes are suspended
