Argumentative Essay outline


Thesis Statement: Although Filipinos are baffled about changing the academic school year to September until June due to the fact that the vacation coincides with the months having typhoons and floods, the schools can follow their curriculum which can avoid suspension of classes wherein  no lessons get left behind.

A.    Counter- Argument:  Changing the school year reduces the suspension of classes due to heavy downpour

1.     Representatives Judy Syjuco (2nd District, Iloilo), Mary Ann Susano (2nd District, Quezon City) and Roger Mercado (Southern Leyte) define that the third quarter  months pours heavy rainfall  wherein students attend make-up classes so that they can finish the number of schooldays for their curriculum

2. Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla stated that it is alright to change the school year to minimize the jeopardy of student and  teachers when the parents, and relatives bring and fetch the students to school especially when classes are suspended

B. Counter-Argument:  Changing the school year can help lessen the sicknesses that usually occur in the rainy months

1. Mercado-Revilla said that it can help subside the dilemmas happening regarding the health of students and teachers like respiratory diseases, dengue fever and leptospirosis.

C.    Pro-Argument:  Changing the school year would mean that students will experience the hottest months, namely March, April, and May,  while they are learning

1.     Mariano Piamonte of CEAP stated that schools will be prompt to use air-conditioning units or electric fans  so that they can drive away the heat . This would signify that the tuition fee will increase due to use of technological units which will make students comfortable.

2. Students might experience sicknesses such as heat stroke while they are doing their outdoor activities for school

D.   Pro-Argument: Changing the school year entails students  with their families a gloomy vacation

1.  Students will be inside of their houses because of the amount of rainfall pouring

E. Pro-Argument: Changing the school  year would mean that students will have the inclusion of more holidays like Holy Week, Araw ng Kagitingan, and Labor Day.
      1. There will be more holidays to celebrate for the proposed school year.
